Riesling Wine

Riesling is distinguished by good sugar content and high acidity. The characteristic small and compact bunch is susceptible to noble rot, which makes the variety also suitable for the production of dessert wines. The alcohol content of Riesling wines very rarely exceeds 12%, which is another advantage of the variety. Due to its high sugar content and acidity, Riesling has the potential for aging in the bottle, the peak of which occurs around its fifth year. 

Riesling wine combines well with almost all foods, it is always a successful combination with cheeses, and even with fresh desserts. It must be consumed well chilled, the optimal temperature is 11 degrees. 

The Riesling variety

The Riesling (from German - Riesling) is a very old variety of white wine grape, and the wines produced from it are among the most valued white dry and dessert wines. The history of the variety starts in Germany, and its most popular  name is Rhein Riesling. There are several varieties of it, including Bulgarian Riesling, which is a hybrid variety. In our country, the cultivation of German Riesling is concentrated in the cooler northeastern regions. It likes a colder climate, with plenty of sunshine and proximity to bodies of water, which makes the vineyards of Izba Kaliakra near Kavarna an excellent place for its cultivation.
